About Us

Hello there! I’m Caroline Webster, a proud Texan, and an even prouder grandmother of five energetic grandchildren. Born and bred in the heart of Texas, I spent most of my life amidst the warm southern hospitality, cowboy boots, and mouthwatering barbecue. However, ever since I retired from my career as a school teacher, my husband, James, and I discovered a shared passion that led us thousands of miles away from home – our love for Switzerland.

Our love affair with Switzerland began quite unexpectedly. On a whim, we decided to embark on a European adventure to celebrate our retirement. Little did we know that our hearts would be captured by the serene beauty of the Swiss Alps, the charming chalets dotting the mountainsides, the tranquil lakes mirroring the clear blue sky, and the quaint, cobblestoned streets of Swiss towns. We were smitten and knew our retirement years had a new purpose.

Every year, James and I trade our Texan hats for warm alpine gear and journey across the Swiss Confederation. There’s no better way to explore this beautiful country than by rail – each train ride feels like a trip through a picture-perfect postcard. With our trusted Swiss Travel Pass in hand, we’ve traversed the high mountain peaks of the Glacier Express route, the panoramic views of the Golden Pass line, and the twisting, turning tracks of the Bernina Express. Each journey is as thrilling as the last, a testament to Switzerland’s endless allure.

But our trips to Switzerland aren’t just about the train rides and stunning landscapes. We’ve delved into the country’s rich history and culture, visiting over a hundred of the 500 museums the Swiss Travel Pass grants us entry to. We’ve also sampled countless Swiss delicacies – our favorites being Swiss fondue and raclette.

While James and I relish our annual Swiss escapades, we equally cherish the times we share our experiences with our five grandchildren. They’ve accompanied us on a couple of our Swiss trips, and their wide-eyed wonder mirrors our own when we first set foot in Switzerland.
